Guizhou Kailin New Energy Coalbed Methane Liquefaction Project
50,000 Nm³/day Wellhead Gas Liquefaction | Turning Flaring Gas into Usable Resource
Project Overview
- Location: Guizhou Province, China
- Liquefaction Capacity: 50,000 Nm³/day
- Client: Guizhou Kailin New Energy Co., Ltd.
- Year: 2015
Background
As coalbed methane (CBM) development in Guizhou entered a critical well testing phase, large volumes of natural gas were flared due to a lack of immediate utilization solutions. This not only posed environmental and safety risks but also led to significant waste of clean energy. The client urgently needed a rapid-deployment, flexible liquefaction solution to efficiently capture and utilize short-term gas output from intermittent wells.
Our Solution
KATIANGAS provided a customized mobile natural gas liquefaction unit, independently developed and manufactured by our team. Deployed directly at the wellhead, the unit performs on-site dehydration, purification, liquefaction, and LNG storage/transport for CBM resources from low-output or fluctuating gas wells.
Its high integration, low energy consumption, and easy operation make it ideal for regions with unstable gas sources and limited infrastructure.
Technical Highlights
- Modular Design: Fast deployment, easy relocation, and flexible scheduling
- Full-Cycle Gas Utilization: Enables efficient gas capture even during well testing, eliminating conventional flaring
- Dual Environmental and Economic Benefits: Converts previously flared gas into LNG, reducing emissions while enhancing resource value
- Innovative Operational Management: Streamlines testing procedures, improving safety and overall project efficiency
Project Value
- Achieved stable daily gas processing of 50,000 Nm³ during initial trial operation
- Met dual goals of environmental compliance and energy value creation
- Served as a pioneering CBM utilization model in Guizhou, offering a replicable path for future regional gas development
